Another quote from Emily Lindin’s The UnSlut Project reels us in. We covered this project in early May, but just to bring you up to speed: Emily was the sixth grade “slut.” She kept a diary at that time, and decided to publish it, word-for-word, on the Internet. Readers also contribute their own stories to the blog.
Since the beginning, the blog has successfully covered important issues such as slut-shaming, sexuality, relationships, bullying, and even eating disorders and self-harm.
Now, Emily asks us to help her in funding Slut: A Documentary Film, via Kickstarter.

I’ve shared my diaries from when I was sexually bullied in middle school on The UnSlut Project website. Many women and girls have contributed their own stories. Now it’s time to spread the word.
Slut: A Documentary Film will demonstrate the extent of sexual bullying and slut shaming in our schools, media, and culture; and explore the steps we can all take to work toward change right here in the United States and Canada.
I founded The UnSlut Project a few months ago as a blog of my own diary entries from when I was sexually bullied in middle school, as well as an online community for women to share their experiences with slut shaming and sexual bullying. Now I’ve partnered with my best friend and director, Jessica Caimi, to bring this message to a larger audience with this documentary film project.
Slut: A Documentary Film will feature the stories of girls who were driven to suicide by sexual bullying, interviews with women who have experienced the effects of slut shaming in their own lives, and the opinions of media figures, sexologists, psychologists, and other experts.
