Our mission at Echo Peak Productions is to create images of women that depart from the current cultural standards of beauty, and to stimulate conversation through body-image awareness projects. Our ultimate goal is to help people see that beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, colors and ages. The images you see here are part of Echo Peak Productions' first project. They were created in response to the one-dimensional portrayal of female beauty in fashion magazines. It is our goal to show that women who vary in size and shape from today's fashion models can represent fashion beautifully and sell products equally well. The women shown here model healthy bodies created without obsession. Equally important, they possess relatively positive body-images. These are women who have worked through body issues and love to eat, exercise moderately, and live fully in the bodies they were given. As a result, they don't spend their lives dieting or exercising obsessively. They are women whose beauty and love of life radiates from the inside out. This first project by no means represents the full spectrum of diversity in size, shape, age or color of women. The women portrayed here are some of the ones, out of many who were asked, who agreed to be photographed. We are planning future photo sessions which will round out our portfolio to include variety on all levels. We are encouraged to continue with our work because of the enthusiastic responses received when showing these photographs to women and men around the country.
