I'm just reading this article again in preparation for doing a body image group for pregnant mothers. Thanks for your refreshing thoughts! The celebrity culture around pregnancy and post-baby is ridiculous! I think every woman should eliminate the phrase "get my body back" from their vocabulary. You still have your body; it didn't get lost after you gave birth. It did EXACTLY what it was designed to do!

As a mother of three children myself, and being a personal trainer! I have to say thank you Audrey , when you just give Berth your focus should be your child and your health . Your time is now so precious there will be time for workouts but it should not be from delivery room to gym in one breath. It's not healthy or safe for mom , take a little time off of being supper woman ! And just enjoy this new chapter in your life for a moment because it will pass quikly !

Hallelujah! As a mom of two, this trend is disturbing and damaging. Thank you for your voice of reason, and for calling out the profit driven standard for what it is.

I can understand the models needing to get back in shape quickly. Their bodies are their jobs and if they have contracts, then they have to be there and be in shape. But for the rest of them, I don't see the dire need to get back to normal again so quickly. I doubt Mariah's career is going to be much affected if she's 15 lbs heavier...she's just Mariah anyway lol.
