Since 1994, MarketPlace has been using its experience organizing disadvantaged women in India to help Southwest Creations Cooperative (SCC) develop programs to assist women in low-income communities in New Mexico. The artisans at SCC make all the organic cotton basics sold in this catalog. Women face similar problems all over the world and it is remarkable to see that the women artisans of MarketPlace and SCC draw on the same courage, hard work and commitment to make sure that they and their families survive.
