What!? No 10th offender?
That's right -- we need you to help us out by providing an image for this space.
Send in an offender to us! We'll choose one and post it here. Here's how:
- Pick an image that shows a stereotype of women that could be harmful to women and girls' self-esteem, body image, or mental health. Make sure to write down the web site URL or name of magazine and issue date (for example, April 2007).
- Write up a little explanation using the format you saw in the previous 9 ads:
- Come up with a eye-catching tagline
- Include the web site URL or name of magazine and issue date (for example, April 2007)
- Tell us what you think
- Ask media-literacy questions and include them
- Get any contact info you can find for the advertiser
- Scan the image or save it from a web site. If you scan it, PLEASE make sure it's no larger than 72dpi or 5MB (Give our e-mail servers a break!)
- E-mail all of this to submissions@about-face.org. If you must, you can mail it to us.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Please only send in ads that are targeted to girls and young women. Do not send any pornographic images. Our purpose is to educate, not shock.
