What We Think:
The portrayal of dead women in advertising is one act of "killing" the woman, which may lead us to think real violence against women is okay.
The Facts:
On average, more than three women are murdered by their boyfriends or husbands in the United States every day. (Bureau of Justice Statistics Crime Data Brief, Intimate Partner Violence, 1993-2001, February 2003 as found on endabuse.org.)
