- What is the expression on “flight attendant” Eve’s face?
- Are there any stereotypes this advertisement about class and/or gender this ad supports?
What We Think:
While this may look like an advertisement to sell a phone, a closer look reveals that there is a lot more going on. This ad is really selling status. The phone serves as a symbol of success and class. Notice how the Eve on the phone is being waited on, most likely in a private jet. She is being served by another woman who looks at her resentfully, reinforcing competition not only between women, but between the haves and the have-nots.
