2016 About-Face Embody Awards: Transforming Fashion
This event sold out last year, so get your tickets today!
Can’t make it to the Embody Awards? Please consider sponsoring a ticket for a young activist.
The 2016 Embody Award honorees are Bay Area fashion designers breaking barriers in expanding self-expression for all — beyond body size and gender expression. At this event, they will be showing their designs with the help of “real people”, not professional models.
Above, from left to right:
Thúy Nguyen, Thúy Custom Clothier: edgy, custom suiting for female bodies
Mary Going, Saint Harridan: high-quality custom and ready-made masculine clothing for female bodies
Taylor Jay, Taylor Jay Collection: stylish, flowing, well-made clothes for women of all sizes
Susan Gregg Koger, ModCloth: vintage-inspired, body-positive clothing shops and diverse body sizes in marketing
Young Activist Award honoree Marisa Kim, a student at Lowell High School in San Francisco
