Disclaimer: Personal bias and sanguine affinity. Latent recognition of author's validity & point of view. Better late than ever.

With that said, and with hindsight, I wonder why my generation [70+] found John Wayne [no cosmetic surgery, for sure], Humphrey Bogart [Trinity School NYC graduate, as author, ugly as sin], Frank Sinatra [look at those ears]. Maurice Chevalier [slicked hair & almost hair lip], Spencer Tracey [the apple of Katherine Hepburn's eyes, drooping eyes galore], Elvis Presley [give-me-a-break, where do you start?], Richard Widmark [again, where?], Robert Mitchum.....I can go on and on. Those guys didn't join "the World" but they were ***stars***. Those guys had it, and more, why do today's guys have do differ?

The author is right on in diagnosing and commenting on men's rush to cosmetic "beauty" . My question is, the guys that I mention did very well, thank you, So why not follow their lead? Or is it that the times are a'changin and I don't get it.
